SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT

Enables customers to enter competitive integrated employment by:

• determining potential work sites;

• providing individualized assistance in finding an appropriate job match;

• assessing work-related skills that could transfer to employment;

• providing job/customer specific job skills training; and

• providing ongoing support services to ensure job retention including requesting job accommodations

JOB PLACEMENT

Assists customers in preparing for and completing the job search process. Includes supports such as:

• Job readiness training, such as:

  • resume development

  • job search and job application training

  • disability disclosure

  • addressing employment barriers

  • requesting accommodations

• Assistance with developing job leads

• Preparing for interviews

• Job Skills Training (if needed)

JOB SKILLS TRAINING (JOB COACHING)

Uses structured intervention techniques to implement the most effective and least intrusive methods to help the customer learn the essential soft and hard skills of their job.

Job Skills Training:

• teaches skills;

• reinforces skills; and

• develops or sets up accommodations and/or compensatory techniques to increase the customer's independence and ability to meet the employer's expectations

VOCATIONAL ADJUSTMENT TRAINING (VAT)

Vocational Adjustment Training (VAT) is designed to help a customer learn skills to assist them to become work and job ready. Work Readiness Services prepare participants to excel in their abilities to obtain and maintain competitive integrated employment. VAT services are designed to teach the customer the skills such as:

• Identify work personalities, interest, values and transferable skills

• Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork

• Professionalism, work habits, and work ethics

• Understanding workplace expectations, rules and laws

• Problem solving and critical thinking skills

• Disability disclosure and self- advocacy

• Money management

• Transportation training
